General Information
To ensure a pleasant and safe opening for all our visitors, we ask you to pay attention to our admission guidelines.
Access Brückenstraße (Opening Show)
On the premises, bags up to a maximum size of 20 x 30 cm are allowed, moreover, carrying glass bottles, weapons of any kind, large umbrellas, and political symbols is prohibited. A detailed description of the prohibited items on the event grounds can be found in our house rules. Larger luggage items can be left at our luggage points at Johannisplatz and on Theaterstraße.
Admission for the stage on Brückenstraße begins at 5 PM. The opening show will be translated into German sign language.
Traffic

Volunteers
Throughout the entire event area, volunteers are on duty who you can approach with questions. In addition, we have two fixed information booths where you can address your concerns. You can find the information booths at the following locations:
Stadthalle, open on January 18th from 10 AM to 6 PM
Market, open on January 18th from 10 AM to 10 PM and on January 19th from 11 AM to 4 PM
Hartmannfabrik (Information and visitor center)
The Hartmannfabrik is available to you as an information and visitor center throughout the Capital of Culture year. From January 18, 2025, it is officially open to guests, interested parties, and visitors. There you can get information about the entire programme.

Accessibility
The area is largely accessible without barriers. There are wheelchair-accessible entrances to Brückenstraße, barrier-free toilets, and a designated wheelchair platform on Brückenstraße. If needed, assistants are also available to help.
Lost & Found
Please hand in any lost items you find at the event area either at one of our information booths or at the security point at the central stop. You can find our information booths in the Stadthalle and at the market. You can also turn to these places if you have lost something yourself.
If you have lost your child in the event area, please contact a staff member of the security service or the information booth immediately. All information about children found alone is collected centrally so that we can organize help as quickly as possible.
Awareness
We want everyone to feel comfortable, welcome, and respected at the opening of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. For this, it is important that you are considerate of yourself and other visitors, so that we can create a space that is as free from discrimination and as safe as possible together.
We do not tolerate sexism, racism, antisemitism, misogyny, body shaming, age discrimination, ableism, transphobia, queerphobia, hate, aggressive behavior, sexual or verbal harassment, or discrimination of any kind under any circumstances.
If you feel threatened or harassed, please contact our Awareness Team, which can be found around the event area and is marked with pink vests, or at the information booths, as well as the order or medical services.
