Plates of the World

The 'Plates of the World' offers a glimpse into the diverse cooking pots of Chemnitz's citizens. And the best part: you can even taste. In addition to the culinary delights, associations and institutions provide information about their work with people from other countries. Katharina von Storch and Fatima Maged present international stories from Chemnitz with their project ‘Chemnitz Untold’. And of course, there is music: Berlin multi-instrumentalist Moe Jaksch converted a pickup into a mobile stage years ago: Moe's Rockin' Pickup presents Alistair Christl. Moe also gives the stage to rapper Dyaa4 and singer Sarah Alagha, who performs with pianist Max Mende. Also to be seen and especially heard: LELYA & Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble. Canadian Alistair Christl and Berlin-based double bassist Moe Jaksch perform classics and world hits in country style – often on the Moe Rockin’ Pickup stage, a mobile 1977 Ford F150 that emerged during the pandemic as a unique show platform.

Lelya & Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble

The ensembles of the Municipal Music School of Chemnitz have been captivating audiences with their musical diversity for decades. With 23 ensembles, they bring together people of all ages. For the opening of the European Capital of Culture 2025, seven ensembles, including the Ukrainian choir of the Municipal Music School, will perform.
